QIs it legal for Direnzic to recover deleted messages from my phone?
Yes — if you are the lawful owner of the device or have written legal authority (court order, employer authorization, or legal guardianship). Direnzic verifies ownership before performing any forensic work, in full compliance with the ECPA, CFAA, and Texas state law.
QCan Direnzic recover messages from someone else’s phone?
Only under specific legal circumstances — parent recovering a minor child’s device, employer examining a company-owned device, or a court order specifically authorizing examination. We cannot recover data from a device you do not own without legal authority.
QAre the recovered messages admissible in court?
Yes — when our full forensic protocol is followed. We use write-blocking hardware, generate MD5/SHA-256 hash values, document complete chain of custody, and produce reports formatted to meet FRE Rule 901 authentication requirements.
QMy iPhone is on the latest iOS. Can you still recover deleted messages?
Modern iOS devices (iOS 14+) use hardware encryption that makes direct extraction more challenging. Recovery via iTunes/Finder backups or iCloud backups is often the most successful path. We assess each device individually during the free consultation.
QWhat if I don’t know my passcode?
An unknown passcode significantly limits — but doesn’t always eliminate — options. Certain extraction methods do not require the passcode. We will identify available paths during your free consultation before you commit to anything.
QHow does payment work?
The consultation is always free. If you choose to proceed, a 50% retainer is due at signing of the Service Agreement — work does not begin until received. The remaining 50% is due prior to release of your data and report. If data cannot be recovered, your retainer is refunded minus a $100 non-refundable lab fee.
QIs my data kept confidential?
Absolutely. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Direnzic will never disclose case information to any third party — including opposing counsel — without a valid court order or your explicit written consent.
QWhat if the messages are not recoverable?
